The east coast of Greenland is an awesome wilderness. With more than 2600 kilometres (1615 miles) of coastline inhabited by only a few thousand people in two towns and a few small settlements, this is the Arctic with all its breathtaking beauty and striking scenery. Experience this and more from the comfort of our sturdy and spacious yacht, allowing access to fjords and glaciers for land explorations and carrying kayaks for getting out and amongst the 'bergs. Observe seals, dolphins and whales such as minke, humpback and orcas and walk over glaciers into astounding, alpine forests. In our sloop, we experience that amazing and indescribable feeling of total insignificance against the vastness of this frozen natural environment. Greenland really is a place not to be missed.

Trip 1 (Sep 2 - Sep 9 2010) - Introduction
The first departure is a real arctic expedition where we will be exploring places where few or no others have been before. We will start in Isafjordur, sail across the Denmark Strait and spend 10 days exploring this astounding landscape. The trip will end in Kulusuk where guests can have an option of spending extra days in the Ammassalik area or fly straight back to Reykjavik.
Day 1 Isafjordur/ Begin Sailing
Isafjordur, the main settlement of the Westfjords peninsula, in the North-West corner of Iceland is quaint and surrounded by mountains. Take time to explore before we depart for the Arctic Circle in our yacht.
Day 2 Crossing the Denmark Strait
The legendary Denmark Strait that separates Iceland and Greenland is quite the crossing to find our sea legs but sightings of dolphins and whales such as minke, humpback and orcas are sure to delight. Clear weather abiding, we may even see the mountains of Greenland.
Days 3 - 6 Greenland Sailing Expedition
Cold but stunning, Greenland provides the ultimate frozen adventure playground. With an icecap covering about 95% of this, the word's largest island, human habitation is limited and only really exists in small coastal settlements. Time to explore!
Day 7 Kangerdlugssuaq fjord
Departure from the Kangerdlugssuaq fjord and set sail across the Denmark Strait back to Iceland.
Day 8 Isafjordur

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
