Seek out and photograph the magnificent ice and snow-locked landscape, including the region's towering cliffs and a natural crucifix, which rise shear from the sea to over 1 kilometre (3,500 feet), and gigantic icebergs frozen in the ice-pack. Witness Arctic wildlife first-hand, including polar bear, seal, ptarmigan, and in late spring, the flurry of Arctic avian that fly north along the floe edge to nest. Try ice fishing for grouper or the famous Arctic Char. The locale of your "Canadian Arctic Dog Sled Adventure" will be north of the Arctic Circle on the east coast of central Baffin Island in Canada's Eastern Arctic. From March through June this adventure provides a superlative cultural experience and the opportunity to learn of the Inuit lifestyle and means of true Arctic travel as it has existed for centuries. In addition to travel by dog team, the adventure is typically oriented toward seeking out and photographing the spectacular landscape, as well as wildlife that inhabit the area.

Day 1 Ottawa/ Clyde River
The day begins with an early departure from Ottawa for Iqaluit, to move on to our host community of Clyde River where we will be staying at a warm and cosy guesthouse. The excitement mounts as we eagerly anticipate the adventure ahead.
Days 2-7 Dog Sledding
Dog sled across Canada's breathtaking Northwest Territories, pulled by 15 to 20 dogs running with all their might. Travelling on historic trappers' trails over snow and sea ice will have your marvelling at the stunning environment, from Samford Fjord to the edge of the ice floe.
Day 8 Return to Clyde River
After a last morning dog sledding, our afternoon can be spent exploring the community of Clyde River, or simply taking some time out to relax after our intense week-long journey.
Day 9 Nunavut Territory/ Ottawa
Explore Iqaluit, with the opportunity to visit an Anglican Cathedral, the museum and several galleries displaying and selling traditional Inuit crafts. Return to Ottawa and our journey's end.

On 07 June the Australian Government issued an updated travel warning for East Timor strongly advising against travel to East Timor because of the extremely dangerous security situation. Australians in the country are advised to leave. The Travel Warning remains at Category 5 - Do Not Travel.
On Tuesday 07 June we have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of our East Timor trips scheduled to depart in 2006. All travellers will be notified and given the opportunity to transfer to another trip or obtain a full refund (land content only). We very much regret having to take this action and our thoughts and sympathies are with the people of East Timor during this troubled time.
We are confident of being able to resume our normal schedule of trips to East Timor in 2007 and hope that those travellers who have had to cancel their plans this year will travel with us to East Timor in 2007.
